Like all of the homes we build, we feel so privileged to be part of the journey and to share a chapter for a moment in time with our clients.
This beautiful rustic farmhouse in Glass House was no exception and we absolutely loved this story and the home that we have created for our clients.
Located on a beautiful farm in Glass House Mountains, this piece of land had been in the family for generations. With the old family farm house on one side, our clients had the dream of creating a new home where they could capture the most amazing views into the valley, across the horse paddocks and out to the west over to the 4 peaks of the Glass House Mountains themselves.
Designing the home for this block threw up a few challenges – namely the closeness to a busy road and the views to the west, which was the desired aspect of the home, however we needed to be careful with the amount of sun streaming into the home late in the afternoon.
Our clients wanted a solid home and a home that held true to the country location. A mixture of double brick and cladding was used on the walls which gave it a very earthy / homely feel. The monument roofline coming down on the earthy colours really make this home shine – it is so warm and inviting.
This home has been designed with all the expected spaces and more.. The beautiful master bedroom, walk in robe and ensuite, the media room, the spared bedrooms – and then there were the extra touches…. The sowing room, the farmhouse pantry with traditional shelves, the breakfast bar sun seat and the beautiful cathedral ceiling in the living room…. It has all came together beautifully.
There were many things I could say about this particular journey – the water connection delay, the red dirt and there was plenty of that, the realignment of the boundary, etc. but this one was fun…. Our clients couldn’t wait for their dream home and we couldn’t wait to give it to them. What an absolutely joy this was to build – for all the dreams and goals that it held for this couple. We are so so happy to have shared this story – thank you for selecting us to be your builder!
Google Review from our clients:
Nathan and Grace came through on so many aspects when building our beautiful new home. Not only are they exceptionally professional, on the ball and totally transparent and honest in their building process from start to finish but they were able to come up with the design which gave us a spacious, solid, and well thought out living plan. They solved the issues of living next to a busy road whilst making sure we take in the views of the Glass House Mountains. From one end of the house to the other, the finish and quality of products used are beautiful, timeless and complement each other so well. Two weeks in and our house feels very much a home. We cannot recommend them highly enough and would gladly explain to anyone considering building a custom home why they should consider building with Green Earth Homes.
